REVILLA WELCOMES QC LADIES IN CAVITE

 

Proving the generosity and hospitality of Caviteños, Senator Bong Revilla yesterday (Tuesday, November 11) whole-heartedly welcomed the prestigious Quezon City Ladies Foundation in its Lakbay-Aral mission in the said province.

In a simple yet memorable program held at the Bacoor Multi-Purpose Hall, a welcome acceptance message was delivered by the Caviteño lawmaker for the officials and members of the Quezon City Ladies Foundation.

In his message, Revilla lauded the Quezon City Ladies Foundation for choosing Cavite as the area for their Lakbay-Aral. He also bared the achievements of Cavite during his term as the vice-governor.   

“Dati, itong Cavite ang tinatawag na murder capital of the Philippines . Pero noong ako ay bise-gobernador dito, pinagtuunan ko ng pansin ang peace ang order. Nilabanan ko ang illegal na droga. Tinulungan ko ang ating kapulisan at mga barangay para matanggal ang negative image na iyon ng Cavite ,” Revilla said.

Revilla also cited other developments in Cavite including effective traffic management which slowly but surely solving the traffic in the key cities of the province, particularly in Bacoor. 

Bacoor Vice Mayor Rosette Fernando and Municipal Administrator Engr. Redel John Dionisio also delivered an acceptance speech during the welcome program.

Before the welcome program which was hosted by Barangay Captain Reynaldo Palabrica, delegation visited the historical Aguinaldo Shrine, the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Republic of the Philippines .

Philippine independence from Spain was proclaimed from a window of the Aguinaldo ancestral home on June 12, 1898. Since then, the Philippine flag is raised here by top national officials every Independence Day (June 12) to commemorate the event.

The delegation also had the taste of the famous Digman halo-halo, right in place where it all started in Barangay Digman, Bacoor.

The Quezon City Ladies Foundation, which has hundreds of members composed of Barangay  kapitanas and spouses of male of Barangay Captains and Barangay kagawads of the said city, expressed appreciation to the preparations made by Revilla and the local government of Bacoor for their Lakbay-Aral. They also thanked the senator for the wonderful experience they had during their Cavite tour.  

Miss Joy Belmonte, president of the Quezon City Ladies Foundation and daughter of Quezon City Sonny Belmonte, assured the Revilla and the local officials of Bacoor that they are willing to help the Cavite people if they will conduct their own Lakbay-Aral in Quezon City .
